Limiting Casualities in the Battlefield!!!
So I've been going through the Civony forum and I've found some very useful information on attacking.
So I was wondering if I could successfully, while limiting casualities conquer a lvl 6 Valley near me.
Just by adding, 1 of: Pikeman, Archer, Cavalry and Cataphract; I can save 259 Warriors. Otherwise without those 4 sacrifices, I lose a total of 786 Warriors.
Now if you add just _1_ swordsman, guess how many you save? That's right folks, 384 Warriors! For only 5 other troops.
Lets figure out the equivilant and see if its worth it cost wise and time wise.
(Granted I have Lvl 5 Military Science)
1 hr 29m 36s
30720 = Food
38400 = Lumber
19200 = Iron
for 384 Warriors
1m 28s
150 = Food
500 = Lumber
100 = Iron
for 1 Pikeman
2m 12s
200 = Food
150 = Lumber
400 = Iron
for 1 Swordsman.
1m 28s
150 = Food
500 = Lumber
100 = Iron
For 1 Archer.
4m 55s 240
1000 = Food
600 = Lumber
500 = Iron
for 1 Cavalry.
14m 45s 840
2000 = Food
500 = Lumber
2500 = Iron
For 1 Cataphract.
All together
24m 8s
Food = 3500
Lumber = 2250
Iron = 3600
It's totally worth it

Re: Limiting Casualities in the Battlefield!!!
Hmm very interesting, can we build a better data spread of ideas as far as tactics for attacking ? Like maybe have people list a scenario or two about what they have attacked, as far as valleys or npc, and what they send and lost. I'd really like a more consistent attack strategy so as to not lose that many units.
